Conghui Chen – Pianist | Collaborative Pianist | Music Educator
Conghui Chen is an pianist, collaborative pianist, and educator with extensive experience in solo and ensemble performance. She has performed in major venues across China, Europe, and the United States, including a solo recital and an assistant performance at Musikverein Vienna Magna Auditorium. She also participated in McCartney’s Music Festival in Italy, where she attended masterclasses with Emanuele Arciuli, Vivian Li, Thomas Rosenkranz, and Brendan Kinsella. She was awarded the Golden Bell Award in the piano concerto category and received the Ethel and Carl Galbraith Scholarship from the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for her academic excellence and dedication to music performance.
In addition to her solo career, Conghui has extensive experience as a collaborative pianist, working with instrumentalists and vocalists in various concerts and competitions. She has also performed in chamber music concerts and has been a dedicated ensemble pianist. Her collaboration with an electronic organist earned her Second Prize in the Medeli Electronic Organ Competition. With reliable sight-reading and ensemble skills, she is a trusted pianist among musicians.

As an educator, Conghui has worked with students ranging from beginners to advanced pianists, specializing in developing their technical and musical skills. She has taught students aged 4 to 13, providing a solid foundation in piano technique and musicianship. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes personalized instruction, fostering both technical proficiency and artistic expression.
Conghui earned her Bachelor’s degree from Shenyang Conservatory of Music, where she studied under Li Zhe. She later obtained a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from Longy School of Music of Bard College, studying with Rieko Aizawa, followed by a second Master’s degree and a Graduate Performance Diploma (GPD) in Collaborative Piano, studying with Eri Nakamura. Currently, she is a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) candidate at The Catholic University of America (CUA) under the guidance of Dr. Ivo Kaltchev.
